KIDS PARTIES AT CLIMBFIT

Looking for a cool idea for your child’s next birthday? Why not throw a climbing party! Fun, safe and affordable – it’s an action-packed two-hour experience your child and their friends will never forget.

You bring the birthday buzz and we provide the fun. We’ve got climbing walls ranging from six to 10 metres high, a cargo net to challenge your friends on and a ladder to scale. The kids will be fully entertained from the get-go, working up a healthy appetite for some birthday cake at the end of the session at your own private table. 

Our two-hour parties are suitable for kids 7 years old + and cost $20 per child, which includes rock climbing, harness hire and a safety briefing (minimum booking 10 children; maximum group size 30 including belayers). 

Bookings are essential.

Climbing with a group is awesome fun! We love welcoming groups of 10+ at Climb Fit so why not book your scouts/ venturers/ guide/ youth group in for a climb and give them an experience they won’t stop talking about for days.

Cancellations
Your party runs for 2 hours. You can arrive 10-15 mins before the party starts to set up your table.

The birthday child must be turning at least 8 years old. A younger sibling or two are OK to attend.


Belayers are required to hold the ropes for individual climbers. For each birthday party a ratio of 3 kids per belayer is required. Belayers can be parents, kids over the age of 12 or a belayer hired from Climb Fit. Our staff will run a belay/safety briefing at the start for all parents and kids on the day.

Climb Fit belayers can be hired at a cost of $50 per belayer for your party session. To hire belayers just add them to your booking (Climb Fit requires 7 days’ notice to add or cancel belayers).

Climbers need to wear closed-in shoes and comfy sports clothing.

Each parent will need to sign a waiver for their child (and themselves if they'll be helping out or spectating). As the host you'll receive information on how to complete this as part of your booking confirmation.

Why can't we book a larger group, or have food with our party?

We currently have restrictions due to COVID-19 and as such cannot allow large groups, or accommodate food/meals for groups. For more information check out our COVID-19 information page here.

We have never climbed before, what do we do?

Just rock up, we will show you the rest!

Why the age limit of  7 years+?

From 20 years of partying experience we find that a group around this age is more manageable for the parents and has a lot more fun than younger age groups. Safety is our main concern, so we do not take groups of younger kids.

How many adults do I need?

A ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids is ideal as the kids can have a bit of a rest between climbs, and egg each other on a bit. Kids aged 12 and older can be taught to belay, but remember they will want to climb too! If you need assistance we can arrange some belayers to help for the duration of your party for $50 each. Just select the number required when making your booking.

What is 'belaying'?

Every climber needs to be attached to a rope to make sure they're safe. The belayer is the person controlling this rope to make sure their climber is safe. It's a big responsibility, but is also pretty easy to learn!

I have less than 10 kids – can I still book a party?

Of course, but if you want our party table & seating area you will need to book and pay for a minimum of 10 kids. If you don't need the full party setup and/or have less than 10 kids, just come along as casual visitors (NB - our parties take priority over drop-ins and casual visitors).

Can we stay longer than 2 hours?

No, sorry. Our group bookings are for 2 hours only.

What is the dress code?

We require closed in shoes for everyone attending, and recommend comfy/stretchy sports clothes. Please keep in mind that all adults who are belaying will also need to wear a harness, so opt for shorts/pants over skirts/dresses.

What if I am unsure of the number of kids who will come?

Try to book as close to the number you think will attend, or add a couple extra if you’re unsure. As you are only required to pay a booking deposit for the first 10 kids we will adjust the numbers on the day and you can pay for any extras then. If your numbers change please let us know so we can better prepare for yours and other bookings.

How can parents sign the waiver for their child?

Each parent will need to sign a waiver for their child and for themselves if they'll be helping out, even if they’ve already been to the facility. This special party waiver lets you see who has signed and RSVP’d. As the host you'll receive information on how to complete this as part of your booking confirmation.

What is the cancellation policy? Can I change the date?

Cancellation & refunds

If you decide to cancel your party and notify us 7 days prior to the booking, we will be able to refund the full amount of your deposit or move it to another date.

If you cancel within 7 days your deposit will not be refunded, nor will we be able to transfer it to another date.
